‼️48 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY ‼️ This is just a gentle reminder that we operate a very strict 48 hour cancellation policy and we cannot reschedule or refund lessons under ANY circumstances. All of our staff at Kewen School of Music are self employed and we make decisions about our schedules based on what lessons we have booked in ahead of time. This is very important for us to operate our business efficiently. As we always kindly ask for your payment no later than 48 hours in advance so that we can uphold this policy, we also have to keep our policy the same for everybody so it is fair. This week we’ve had 5 cancellations which is 5 hours of lessons we would not have received payments for had our policy be different. Some of our tutors only come in for under 5 hours per week which would mean an entire tutors wage being cut that week. We understand that some things cannot be helped but we always appreciate your understanding during lesson cancellations as we always do our best to ensure that lessons stay on and that we can maintain a successful business in this tricky climate and find ways to keep our doors remaining open and music lessons continuing 🎶 Thanks so much for your understanding regarding this! 🙏 Callum

*CHANGE OF VENUE FOR SUMMER CONCERT* We are very excited for our summer concert on Thursday however we have had to change venues due to an unforeseen fire breaking out at Blyth Comrades Club. Everybody is okay but we now have to change venues due to the damage. We will now be back at our old venue High Street Social Club just opposite our music school and the start time is now 7:30pm. She shows huge potential and it was great finally seeing her overcome her nerves and play in front of the people of Blyth. Well done Alexis! 🥳🎶

Blyth town carnival is tomorrow and we’re so excited to be a part of it! 😃 Not only is our amazing vocal tutor Charlotte Forman doing a short set on the stage at 12:10pm but we have a little music school showcase at 1:40pm🎶 Come watch our students Bethany, Alexis, Rosie and Isabelle perform instruments from vocals, guitar, violin and piano and see the talent that we’re creating right here in Blyth! 🎹🎸🎻🎤 Location is the Keel Row Car Park in Blyth 👍

KEWEN SCHOOL OF MUSIC UPDATE I hope you are all having a lovely Summer and keeping up the practice! We have some important changes coming to Kewen School of Music over the next few months to be aware of… PRICE CHANGES A few months ago we announced a small price increase to ensure that we adapt to the current business climate as well as be able to offer our tutors a small pay rise for their time working with us over the past 2 years. We went back on this decision due to tax reasons and the inevitable price increase due to VAT in the near future. From Friday 1st August we are going to become VAT registered which means we are going to need to put the prices of our hour and half hour slots up. Block bookings will also go up in price accordingly, however remaining best value for money. When purchasing a block booking, most instruments work out at the same price as our original pricing if you are still looking for ways to save money. Please get in touch for prices or see our website for further details. This change doesn’t come into effect until 1st August. This means that any lessons purchased before then, including block bookings will be honoured at the current price. For students who have just experienced a small price increase with family discounts and multiple lesson offers then your prices will currently remain the same until the end of the year. This does not apply to new students taking advantage of this offer. Unfortunately this has been a necessary change and step in the business which has been beyond our control. We have had no choice but to change our prices to these rates and this is the cheapest possible we can offer whilst still sticking to HMRC standards asking for 12% of our earnings. As always, we appreciate your understanding and we have to try and see it as a good thing long term as our business is growing and heading in the right direction. NEW WEBSITE BOOKING SYSTEM I have mentioned previously that we are working on an automated booking system so that lessons can be booked online without needing to go through myself. We have some things to iron out before properly launching it but our new website is live which you can view here - https://www.kewenschoolofmusic.uk/ This is mainly to make you aware that this is being implemented soon and should make the running of our schedules more efficient. We will aim for this to come in place around August time also. SUMMER CONCERT Our Summer concert is taking place on Thursday 7th August at Blyth Comrades Club.
