At Kewen School of Music, we are passionate about making music and we love to meet like-minded people who are learning to play, mastering their craft and enjoy sharing their talents!

We are located in Blyth town centre, just behind St Mary's Church and we are open 7 days a week. Our workshops are tailored to meet the needs of our students and our community and include everything from beginner music workshops, for those who like to learn in a group to advanced jam sessions. Every instrument is welcome, from guitars to piano and we include singing workshops too! Get to know our tutors and staff or get in touch for more information.
Guitar (Riff Masters)
Group Workshops for Guitar
Our Riff Masters Workshop is suitable for beginner and intermediate guitar players. We offer a group focus session on a range of popular songs and riffs. You could learn how to play some of your favourite songs in tab form as well as some popular warm up exercises, tips and tricks. If you are learning to play the guitar, this is a great workshop to get involved in!
Jam sessions for guitar players
If you are a more advanced guitar player and want to build on your lead playing and improvisation skills, why not join a jam session at Kewen School of Music? Our guitar workshops and jam sessions focus on taking turns in creating a solo in different styles and keys. There is time for feedback, and we can help to target specific techniques.

Singing workshops
Our singing workshops are suitable for any skill level and for people wanting to build confidence with their voice and perform in a group ensemble. We work on rock, pop and choir focused exercises and other fun activities that encourage and enhance harmony and rhythm. We have workshops for both children and adults and they are all conveniently located at our dedicated premises on Church Street.
Songwriting sessions and workshops
Suitable for musicians wishing to expand their skill and ability to write a song, we offer songwriting workshops with talented and experienced tutors. A group song may be written with the aid of a tutor or multiple parts of a song may act as 'homework' for the individual to then put together for another session on their own.
